so we’re heading somewhere, we’ll get there slow if the crowds of anal-retentives grow. you’re on the telephone, i hear you delegating call centre workers in a condescending tone. and i’m vile and i’m broke and I left my pans to soak, said you didn’t notice, you noticed! expect to ascend an apex of accomplishment, i haven’t time for, i’ve got no time for... those girls say they’re insane it’s quite clear that they’re not, as everything seems plain we sink blue drinks and stumble home... terra firma soft to touch, languid tarmac covered up, they call it progress, i call them thugs who take their demons out to lunch… those girls say they’re insane, it’s quite clear that they’re not, all those bands with boring names the towns pitchforks are quite blunt. two old drunks fall in love but never spill a drop, there’s mild glee at this house party as someone takes a piss down the stairs… again, there’s no plan, as we just sit back and wait, and this malaise is everything you hate
2.
you don’t know where you going to stay, your old man locked the house and threw the keys away, we drive our cars that aren’t insured and maintain that many fingers are stuck up at the law… white monitor screens are wasting our time, let’s go for a dip we’ll swim against the tide, see the waves reflecting deep in amber eyes, if i’m honest you’re too modest… it feels strange that you’re been flying around for days, for once I’m seasick cause i know you’re far away, cloven hooves on sinking sand, i can see now i’ve got to be a patient man… light up the fake cold fire it’s cold out tonight, a thousand molecules erupt into life, i can see them flicker deep in amber eyes, if i’m honest you’re too modest… on a diamond sea we bide our time, got lost on the breeze but we are doing fine, as a coastguard hit snooze a 15th time, was only two short nights but still it’s on my mind… do these things happen all the time? It doesn’t phase me at all, the moon is raising up the tide… we run through the forest sprinting for miles, forget the queue cards, we’ll improvise lines

03:53
we were entwined, now they’ve called time, we bathe in different light, my organs writhe with plume I draw inside to dull the cares, in time we’ll breathe less tainted air, in time let’s leave this all behind… now i can’t look into your eyes i feel bewildered all the time, in time we’ll see through the trees, when you come home to me… I had a vision of you next to me, house in a country that I’d never seen, I’ve never been one to be neighbourly, in time, I’ll try… never felt the spray from Detian Falls, just stuck duck and weaving cause we need to have it all, but it never seems to go that way, shouldn’t ever come to easily… now I can’t look into you eyes I feel bewildered all the time, now I can’t look into your eyes cause we are parted by the tides, in time we’ll see through the trees, when you come home to me… it’s no good just sitting waiting, no I’m no good just siting waiting here
4.
we head northwest again, caravan club’s waiting, give me some thread and I’ll fix up the holes in my jeans… uncle john is glued to the tv, he’s watching the grand prix, as he waits on his dinner didn’t bet on a winner again, we slip away for a time and smoke in your grandmother’s garden, we’ll be forgotten… snails crawl along, barely noticed till crushed under toes leaving their entrails for a passing song thrush, reaping the reward of our clumsiness again… uncle john is glued to the tv watching Saturday grandstand, auntie jean is doing her laundry, curtains dirty and tawdry, we slip away for a time, I’ll smoke in you grandmothers garden in my head, you won’t be forgotten
5.
we’re worldly wise so we’ll take a break and watch the tv till our accents change, I draw and plan comedic graves, i’ll put my brain in a jar for my children as a nice keepsake, oh you know that we never needed more than this… the heavy air here smells equine but there’s no wildlife around except for all the birds and bugs and the trees are patched in white, is it fungus? or has someone had the painters in?... the city I live in is really no good for me, obviously… i’m sat on a train with all the people on their f**king iphones, I look out the window and take in the petrified landscape, it’s time to go home now, can only afford mcdonalds, now I’m throwing my guts up in the sydney airport toilet… the city I live in is really no good for me, i need to take a trip away with rosa b
6.
alma is it supposed to be like this? loose change is weighing heavy in our pockets now, when holes form will shrug or will you shout out loud?... when we run it won’t be long until we fall and graze our elbows on the pavement… david, do you find it hard to sleep that well? we’ll eat bland it heightens up our sense of smell. tremors, you predicted gods would stamp their feet and children they should be allowed to have wild dreams, as I count my sheep… we’re not done, it won’t be long till we show that we’re rather special… they said nothing comes for free now we’re swimming in the sea, no drama any more and your mum’s not on the phone, shall we spend our last days in the sun drinking cheap alcohol? it
7.
in the camp ground playing piano, full of sun and food, I ponder how these things dictate our mood, as the german people clean up the kitchen
8.
now that I’m done it wont be long, building harms all that I’ve done, walking in my sleep past rows of twisted castles, I wake from dreams in fits of laughter… I’ve seen the changes over time, warm tears won’t ever bring it back… start tearing arms from giant structures, history’s null in these golden pastures, heavy like my sweat I pedal faster, but they’ll move on and leave their rubbish… we’ve smelt to rot for many years, I’ve tried to hold back the tide, try smiling drink to pasture gone, cause warm tears won’t ever bring it back
9.
you cannot gossip now you are sat home by yourself, this town’s old women are drinking tea and nothing else, now I’m rather boring that I have dialed the ‘arsehole’ down, my girlfriend is snoring, seems she preferred the wreckless clown… cheer up it’s not at all like we’ve been taught, your tv lies on the whole, we love the rain and the cold… your nissan bluebird makes me car sick inexplicably and these new trainers I run in will be the death of me, that city boy is a tightarse, just leave those homeless damp and grey, I know the sun aint the reason there’s all those tramps out in LA… chear up it’s not quite as bad as you thought, your neighbours whine and they moan they love the rain and the cold
10.
standing in an airport queue with a bag of microphones, they arouse suspicion everywhere I go, you think that I packed swimming trunks and came home with a bomb? Please sir I’ve just been away braising in the sun… would it be safe to assume that I’ve been up to no good again? why is it I have no shoes on? cause they floated off down the seine… i have too much time today i bit my fingers raw, I heard the foreign birds call, and I could not ignore that I missed your pretty face today, it wouldn’t leave me be, and the only thing I’ve got in the fridge is a shriveled tangerine… would it be safe to assume that i’ve been up to no good again? As and when I drop down dead be a friend and please bury me under that tree where the neighbourhood dogs mark their territory… we swam in lakes in national parks, you can’t back what you say, thrashing tulips in the dead dead dark, you can’t back what you say. tasteless meals on plastic trays
11.
a man once told me that the god’s had a garden and that mountains were molehills in their lawn, you can’t predict the diction of the absurd, you know they’re never forget that time you swore that in another life that you could remember vasco de gama shoving off to set his feet upon a landmass of spices, where we’ll commit vices when we land, on indian ground… what’s this harmony? just muted reverie? that smell on the breeze, pink blackpool rock is stuck in my teeth… you learn ventriloquy, i play dominos… like a domino, climbing up the wall, like a domino i can break your fall? like a domino, painting as you go
12.
sat controlling fake commandants, yet never touch the breeze, a condemnation from condensation those siphoned dry still gather spores, they’ve made it easy to while away the time that we have… an unfit mind sits back and signs for new perfect ways to waste our time, i try to imagine what lies in that big brain of yours, the islandman doesn’t want for all the things that we have… to take a fertile piece of land build a simple home and when something’s washed ashore we’ll take it, i will take it. we have more, do we need more than we had?
13.
a half cut driver speeds over that drunken clown, gall bladder emitting a high pitched sound… into the ground, you have to burrow the life we chase belies grace, as we narrowly miss all the things we’re supposed to hit, kept distracted as this town’s bricks and mortar fall down… if you don’t go then you’ll never see, I’ve yet to find the line of the fault but you never know, these memories corrupt and turn to grain, you stop to think about them but they’re strange… into the ground we’ll have to burrow down the life we change defiles our grace, as the rich take trips to space, invent new food we’ll never taste, kept distracted as this towns bricks and mortar fall down, it’s all around… you feel dejected and ineffectual, don’t let your hobbies be affected, I’ve got no money but I’ve got honies, venereal diseases, exotic cheeses, don’t shop at tesco’s, don’t shop at as asda, don’t drink that Bovril it gives you cancer, the xenophobics have become intrinsic, they all want more than they deserve
